ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, through its Meri Sangini Meri Margdarshika Programme at ACC Bargarh, is ensuring that financial hardship does not stand between vulnerable communities and the healthcare they are entitled to.
Saraswati Sethi had been managing her diabetes as best she could. The 58-year-old from Katapali village in Bargarh district did not have much to work with, but she managed. Then a severe wound developed on her leg and managing was no longer enough. She needed surgery. And surgery, for a family already stretched thin, felt impossible.
It was at this point that an MSMM Sangini from Adani Foundation came into her life. The Sangini — one of 121 placed across project locations under the MSMM Programme specifically to connect eligible families to government social protection schemes — identified Saraswati’s case and understood immediately what was needed. Not just medical care but the pathway to access it without cost.
She guided Saraswati through the process of obtaining her Ayushman Bharat Health Card and facilitated her admission to Apollo Hospital in Rourkela. From 9 to 17 June 2026, Saraswati received the treatment her condition demanded. The surgery was successful. The total medical expense came to Rs. 34,385 — covered entirely under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Her family paid nothing.
Saraswati returned to Katapali village recovered, her wound treated and her family spared a financial crisis that could have undone years of careful living. For the MSMM Sangini who identified her case, it was the programme working exactly as it was designed to. For Saraswati, it was simply the moment someone showed up when she needed them most.
Adani Foundation’s MSMM Programme at ACC Bargarh continues to do this work quietly and consistently — placing Sanginis in communities where the gap between entitlement and access is widest, and making sure that gap gets closed one family at a time.
