BC Jindal Foundation Strengthens Community Well-Being; Benefits Over One Lakh Lives Through Nutrition Support Programme

New Delhi : The BC Jindal Foundation, the CSR arm of one of India’s leading business conglomerates, the BC Jindal Group, has announced that its Nutrition Support Programme has directly benefited over one lakh underprivileged individuals across 10 districts in four states. With a cumulative commitment of Rs 30 crore, the programme is a large-scale initiative providing nutritious and freshly cooked meals to underprivileged communities across its areas of operation.

The BC Jindal Group, led by Shyam Sunder Jindal, Promoter, BC Jindal Group, through its foundation’s initiative, has been committed towards making a difference to the lives of economically disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals across age groups with its Nutrition Support programme. In FY26, the foundation committed approximately Rs. 6 crore for the initiative and distributed over 25 lakh meals to over 8500 people daily. In FY27, the BC Jindal Group further plans to deploy approximately Rs. 7 crore to offer over 28 lakh meals and benefit over 9,000 individuals daily.

“Our goal is to improve food and nutrition security for deprived communities by providing nutritious meals on a regular basis, reducing hunger and malnutrition, and ensuring dignified access to food for underprivileged individuals. Initially launched to address food insecurity, the program has evolved as a steady, dignified promise to ensure that no child, no elder or no street dweller will go to bed hungry,” said a BC Jindal Group spokesperson.

Today, the BC Jindal Foundation (BCJF), through this initiative, addresses a systemic challenge, serving as a lifeline for thousands of people across Delhi-NCR, Nashik, Gurugram and Kolkata while working closely with local NGOs. This approach consciously aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals-2 (Zero Hunger), targeting food insecurity.

BCJF’s program focuses on nutritious, well-balanced meals delivered each day to the most vulnerable groups including children in shelter homes and open schools, families living on the margins, old age home and people sleeping on the streets. Partner NGOs, rooted in these communities, identify need, manage distribution, and adapt menus to local tastes and nutritional requirements. The meals are prepared by blending protein, vegetables, and calories appropriate for growing children and adults alike. In addition, the volunteers of the program ensure that through proper packaging and timed routes, warm food reaches the recipients safely.

The project has delivered remarkable results, as reflected in an independent impact assessment conducted in line with Social Audit Standard (SAS-100) parameters focused on eradicating hunger, poverty, malnutrition, and inequality. The assessment found that, on average, 72% of beneficiaries rated the initiative 5 out of 5, while 25% rated it 4 out of 5, highlighting strong satisfaction with food quality, quantity, availability, hygiene, temperature, and taste.

“The initiative stands as a testament to the BC Jindal Group’s enduring commitment to inclusive development, community empowerment, and social equity, contributing meaningfully to building a more equitable and progressive society,” added the spokesperson.

The BC Jindal Group has planned a total investment of Rs 43 crore for various CSR projects across India during FY27. Through this, the foundation plans to focus on improving healthcare, skill development, animal welfare, and nutrition by expanding its ongoing initiatives and introducing new projects under its CSR program. The Group plans to further intensify its CSR operations in the states of Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana, and Maharashtra, among others.

Founded in 1952 by Shri BC Jindal, the BC Jindal Group, led by Shyam Sunder Jindal, promoter, BC Jindal Group, is one of India’s leading conglomerates and is engaged in a diverse portfolio of businesses that includes packaging films, energy & steel products.
