Chalet Hotels Scales ‘Parivartan’ Initiative, Targeting 5,000 New Hospitality Livelihoods by 2030

Mumbai : As India’s hospitality sector experiences rapid expansion, building a capable and diverse workforce has become critical. Chalet Hotels Limited announced a major scale-up of Parivartan by Chalet, its ESG platform that moves beyond traditional CSR to create a sustainable, industry-wide talent pipeline.

Launching the next phase of its strategic partnership with The Job Plus (TJP) and the Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC), Chalet Hotels has set an ambitious target to enable 5,000 sustainable livelihoods by 2030. The initiative directly connects surging industry demand with untapped talent from underserved communities, with particular focus on youth from Maharashtra and Uttarakhand through structured training and formal employment pathways.

Building on Success

The first phase of this collaboration, completed over three years, successfully transitioned 330 young people into formal employment with certifications aligned to the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). The expanded program aims to scale this impact exponentially across India’s heartland.

Tangible Social Impact

The initiative delivers measurable benefits to participants and communities alike:

Democratizing Access: 60% of beneficiaries come from rural or semi-urban locations across 8 states and 30+ cities, bringing premium career opportunities beyond traditional urban centers.

Economic Transformation: Graduates report an average 2X increase in household income post-placement, with many becoming first-generation formal-sector professionals transforming their families’ economic trajectories.

Gender Diversity: Women represent 76% of beneficiaries, significantly boosting their participation in front-line and operational hospitality roles.

Strategic Imperative

Gaurav Singh, COO of Chalet Hotels, emphasized the dual benefit: “The future growth of Indian hospitality relies on looking beyond traditional talent pools. We view livelihood creation as both social responsibility and strategic business imperative. Scaling to 5,000 livelihoods by 2030 makes hospitality careers accessible to young people across India.”

Natwar Nagar, Founder & CEO of The Job Plus, added: “The Indian hospitality sector is at a pivotal juncture where rapid expansion must be matched with skilled talent supply. Chalet Hotels demonstrates true industry leadership by reaching into India’s heartland to unlock raw potential.”

Rajan Bahadur, CEO of THSC, noted: “Creating sustainable talent pipelines requires alignment between industry leaders, training partners and standard-setters. Anchoring this program in NSQF standards ensures youth enter the workforce with world-class, globally recognized competencies.”

The next phase maintains focus on women and youth from underserved communities, creating pathways for those with limited access to formal professional careers while ensuring participants possess the skills, workplace readiness and exposure needed for sustainable hospitality careers.
