The illustrious young entrepreneur shared insights about his startup journey, emphasising that resilience is the key to success

The former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom once said, “Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts”. Building on this lesson in his keynote speech, Appalla Saikiran, Founder and CEO of SCOPE, a new-age holistic platform for budding entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investors and industry experts, addressed the employees of Novartis India, a global healthcare company in Hyderabad. The session’s topic was ‘Resilience & Enterprise Mindset’, and Appalla’s extraordinary entrepreneurial journey told some first-hand tales.

During his address, Appalla shared insights about his startup voyage that he started at the age of just 17. He spoke in-depth about the numerous challenges he faced at every step of the journey and how resilience was the only way that kept him on track. He also touched upon areas like an enterprise mindset—how to develop it and why it is necessary for the entire company. Appalla also shared his experience with taking leadership decisions and shared insights on how to go about it.

After ending an excellent and perceptive speech, Appalla was asked many questions during the Q/A session. Most of the questions revolved around his startup venture since Appalla’s teenage success was the topic of great curiosity. He reiterated that the definition of failure is subjective and motivated employees not to see failure as a permanent thing but as an obstacle bound to happen. In his words, “one isn’t a failure unless they decide to give up on themselves” — until then, failure is just part of success.

It is pertinent to note that Appalla’s success story is nothing short of a once-in-a-lifetime tale. He has received several awards and accolades, including the Global Kids Achievers Award for developing the SCOPE app. He also got a seat at the Junior CEO program certified by Brown University and was among the top 100 students across India selected by Google to visit their office. Recently, he was also elected as one of the most successful teenage Indian entrepreneurs by The Big Red Group and nominated as International Partner for India at WBAF to represent the country at the next Grand Assembly.
