ICBI Hosts Insightful Talk Show on West Bengal’s Development Roadmap with Shri Samik Bhattacharya

Kolkata : The International Chamber of Business & Industry (ICBI) successfully hosted an talk show featuring Shri Samik Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Member of Rajya Sabha and State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), West Bengal, at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata which was also attended by Ms. Vineeta Agrawala, Convenor of the event; Mr. Mahesh Kumar Kedia, Mr. Aditya Murarka, Mr. Vishnu Sureka, Founder Trustee. The event witnessed the participation of prominent industrialists, entrepreneurs, professionals, and members of the business community, who gathered for an engaging discussion on the future of West Bengal.

The session, titled “West Bengal: What We Have Lost in the Last 50 Years and What We Plan to Gain in the Next 10 Years,” focused on the state’s economic transformation, industrial revival, infrastructure development, employment generation, education, and investment opportunities. Shri Bhattacharya shared his vision for a developed and prosperous West Bengal, emphasizing the importance of policy reforms, entrepreneurship, and collaboration between government and industry.

The interactive session also featured a lively question-and-answer segment, where members exchanged views on key issues affecting businesses and explored ways to strengthen the state’s economic ecosystem.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Samik Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Member of Rajya Sabha and State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), West Bengal, said, “West Bengal stands at an important turning point, and our priority is to create an environment where investment, entrepreneurship and employment can flourish without unnecessary interference. The Prime Minister has made it clear that investments of ₹100 crore and above must receive complete support and face no obstruction at any level. Alongside economic growth, we remain committed to the welfare of the underprivileged. Our objective is to build a Bengal that is transparent, investor-friendly and development-oriented, while ensuring that the benefits of growth reach every section of society. Platforms such as ICBI play an important role in bringing these stakeholders together, understanding their concerns and collectively working towards building a Viksit West Bengal over the next decade.”

Speaking to the media, Mr. Mahesh Kumar Kedia, Founder Trustee, said, “The overwhelming response to today’s programme reflects the business community’s keen interest in engaging with policymakers on issues that shape the future of West Bengal.
