Trichy: Karur Vysya Bank (KVB) today announced the launch of its 60-day cybersecurity awareness campaign in Trichy, titled “KVB Sonna Kelunga, Digital Fraud La Sikadhinga”. This initiative is part of KVB’s CSR efforts, which aim to educate the public about safe digital practices and protection against cyber fraud.
The campaign was inaugurated at the District Collectorate Office, Tiruchirappalli, in the presence of Smt. N. Kamini, I.P.S., Commissioner of Police, Tiruchirappalli, along with other government officials and representatives from the Bank.
As part of this initiative, KVB will conduct awareness sessions in schools, colleges, elder care homes, parks, places of worship, busy junctions, and panchayats. The program will also leverage multiple media channels, including print, radio, cable TV, cinema theatres, hoardings, bus wraps, and shelters. Additionally, a specially designed canter van fitted with LED screens will travel across Trichy over the next 60 days, supported by the launch of two Television Commercials (TVCs).
In addition to mass outreach, KVB is creating a multiplier effect through the Digital Self-Defence (DSD) model. All KVB branches in Trichy will function as Digital Self-Defence Kiosks where members of the public can walk in and gain first-hand knowledge on cybersecurity. Bank staff have been trained as Digital Self-Defence Champions to guide citizens on digital safety. The campaign will also engage schools, colleges, panchayat leaders, and other community influencers as DSD Champions, ensuring widespread awareness.
The 60-day campaign underscores Karur Vysya Bank’s commitment to promoting financial literacy and cyber safety as part of its social responsibility.
