Mondelez India to invest INR 1600 crore to expand its manufacturing plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri YS Jagan Mohan Reddy presides over the groundbreaking ceremony of the company’s capacity expansion project

Sricity, Tirupati: Mondelez India, with a portfolio of brands like Cadbury Dairy Milk, Oreo, Bournvita, among others, today hosted a virtual groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of its manufacturing plant at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.  The company will invest INR 1600 crore in building out new chocolate capacity to meet the rising demand in India. Sri. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and other dignitaries with Mr. Venkat Venepally, Vice President – Supply Chain, Mondelez India who joined the event virtually, presided over the ceremony.

The investment will add additional chocolate-making capacity over the next three years, helping Sri City to become one of MondelēzInternational’s largest chocolate production plants globally. This investment will also create additional employment in the state.

We would like to express our gratitude to the Government of Andhra Pradesh for their continued partnership and look forward to building on our success in the state.”      With the Sri City facility being the recipient of the World Economic Forum’s fourth Advanced Industrial Revolution (4IR) ‘Digital Lighthouse award’, this new investment will further empower the facility to enhance its focus on sustainable practices and processes.
