Miss Universe Transgender is India’s very own First International Transgender beauty pageant, curated by India’s first international trans beauty queen Naaz Joshi.
Naaz was inspired when a European trans pageant rejected her because she was overweight and didn’t fit the pseudo-beauty standards, she decided to launch her own international pageant which shall see no discrimination on the basis of age, height, or body weight.
The 2021 edition was an online show and the first winner of Miss Universe Trans 2021-2022 is from Colombia, Mia Brito Gomez. The theme for this year is #nodiscrimination, and this year a staged event after 2 years of the pandemic, the M.U.T organization decided to have a staged event.
We have often seen that big celebs from the trans community face discrimination. The contest shall be held at Lajpat Bhawan and queens shall stay in a heritage property, Jyoti Mahal. Queens from India, Colombia, Thailand, Mauritius, and ECUADOR are competing for the first edition. A special attraction would be winners of three international beauty pageants will be coming together to crown the new miss and queen universe trans 2022.

- Mia Gomez, Winner of Miss universe trans 2021-2022, Colombia
Future: The pageant shall start in India and shall host the next edition on the land from which this year’s winner comes.
