Bengaluru : The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), Bengaluru Chapter, in association with Mitti Café, organised an inclusive job mela at Mirage, St. Marks Road, connecting over 110 persons with disabilities to employment opportunities across Bengaluru’s hospitality industry.

The initiative witnessed participation from leading restaurant brands, including Empire, Nagarjuna, Nandhana Palace, Samosa Party, Geist Brewing Company, Just Blr, Knowhere, 13th Floor, NH 8, V&RO and over 30 other restaurant brands. The event provided candidates with a platform to explore career opportunities and connect with prospective employers, reinforcing the hospitality industry’s commitment to diversity, accessibility, and inclusive employment.

Ananth Narayan, Chapter Head, NRAI Bengaluru, said, “The restaurant industry is one of the largest employers of young and diverse talent, yet there are sections of the workforce that continue to remain outside the industry’s hiring conversations. The Job Mela with Mitti Café is an effort to change that by putting talent and employers in the same room and allowing businesses to look beyond conventional hiring pools. We see this as more than a one-day initiative; it is about encouraging our member restaurants to recognise the capabilities of a wider talent base and build workplaces that reflect the diversity of the communities they serve. As NRAI Bengaluru expands across Karnataka, this will remain an important part of how we engage with and strengthen the industry.”

The NRAI Bengaluru Chapter also announced key changes to its leadership structure, with Chapter Head Ananth Narayan appointing Siddhant Vinod as Co-Chapter Head and Dheeraj M. Kumar as Treasurer. The new leadership will further strengthen the Chapter’s efforts to engage with and represent Bengaluru’s growing restaurant and hospitality fraternity.

The Chapter also marked the completion of Chris John’s four-year tenure as Chief Enabler, recognising his contribution to the Chapter during his term. Ajay Kumar K R will take on the role of Marketing Head, where he will spearhead the Chapter’s marketing initiatives and work towards enhancing its visibility among restaurant partners and industry stakeholders

The collaboration between NRAI Bengaluru Chapter and Mitti Café highlights the importance of collective action in creating equal employment opportunities. With participation from more than 30 restaurant brands, the initiative demonstrated the hospitality industry’s potential to create a more inclusive workforce.

Through initiatives focused on employment, industry collaboration, and leadership development, NRAI Bengaluru Chapter continues to work towards a stronger, more inclusive hospitality ecosystem in Bengaluru.
