Piping hot recipes by Chef Ranveer Brar to fight the monsoon blues!

Do you smell that fragrance? The greatest way to recognize the start of the monsoon is by the soothing scent of moist earth. This season offers a lot to love. The calming coolness in the air accompanied by the rumbling thunderstorm motivate us to put together some hot and scrumptious meals. This season calls for a platter full of piping hot treats to be shared with your loved ones. As fried food is popular during the monsoon, we have put together a unique combination of Sweet ‘n’ Spicy Mushroom Fry to be paired with Spiced Hot Chocolate from Hershey’s for you to indulge in. 1)            Hershey’s Spiced Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons HERSHEY’S COCOA Natural Unsweetened
  • 1 fresh chilli
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tablespoon grated nutmeg

For garnish

  • ½ cup whipped cream
  • 1 tbsp HERSHEY’S Cocoa Powder
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • sugar – ¼ cup

Equipment Needed:

  • 1 boiling Pan
  • Strainer
  • 2 Mugs

Method:

  • In a saucepan add milk, fresh cream, red chilli and bring it to a boil.
  • Strain it in a bowl. Add cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, salt, HERSHEY’S Cocoa Powder and mix well.
  • Pour it in serving glass and garnish with whipped cream, HERSHEY’S Cocoa Powder, cinnamon stick.

2)            HERSHEY’s Sweet ‘n’ Spicy Mushroom Fry

              Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp HERSHEY’s Caramel Flavoured SYRUP
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 3 tbsp garlic
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 10-12 whole mushrooms
  • Salt to taste
  • ¾ tbsp chili sauce
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable stock
  • 1 tbsp corn flour mixed with water
  • Sprig onion greens for garnish

Equipment Needed:

  • Wok
  • 2 serving plates

Method:

  • In a wok, heat oil, add chopped garlic and onion and, cook for 5 minutes
  • Add mushrooms, salt, cayenne pepper powder, chili sauce, HERSHEY’S Caramel Flavoured Syrup, stock, and cook for a minute
  • Thicken with cornflour mixture and stir well until the sauce has coated the mushroom
  • Garnish spring onion greens and serve
