Tirupati: Mohan Babu University conferred honorary doctorates on BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Padma Shri awardee Paresh Maity during its third convocation.
The ceremony saw 3,516 students receive degrees across engineering, management, computer science, pharmacy and allied health sciences. Women secured 75% of the academic topper positions this year.
Rajeev Shukla was honoured for his contributions to public life and sports administration, while Paresh Maity was recognised for his distinguished work in Indian art.
Pro-Chancellor Vishnu Manchu said the convocation reflects the university’s growth and the graduates’ readiness to step into the world with purpose. Paresh Maity noted that education and creativity are journeys of continuous learning, while Rajeev Shukla emphasised the role of universities in shaping responsible citizens.
The university reported a placement rate of over 95% for the graduating batch.
