The World’s Best Whisky Is Back: Indri Unveils Its Highly Anticipated Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026

New Delhi – Following its international debut in London, Indri, India’s largest-selling luxury single malt whisky by Piccadily Distilleries, has unveiled the much-anticipated Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026 in India — a rare Ruby Port Cask expression crafted by Master Blender Surrinder Kumar.

Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026, one of the most anticipated whisky releases globally, made its international debut in London, marking the next chapter in Indri’s celebrated annual Collector’s Edition series. The expression was subsequently showcased at The Whisky Show, London where it received strong admiration and recognition from reputed whisky journalists, critics, connoisseurs, collectors and industry experts, reinforcing Indri’s position among the world’s most talked-about and celebrated single malts.

A celebration of India’s rich cultural heritage and the artistry of contemporary Indian whisky-making, the Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026 brings together the spirit of Diwali with the depth, character and vinous elegance of a Ruby Port Cask-matured single malt. The fourth release in Indri’s annual festive series, this limited-edition expression is bottled at 50% ABV and restricted to just 600 individually numbered bottles for the Indian market. Crafted from six-row barley and distilled in traditional copper pot stills, the whisky is matured in the subtropical climate of northern India in hand-selected Ruby Port wine casks from Portugal, where the richness of the Indian single malt meets the layered fruit character of exceptional fortified wines, creating a distinctive expression of depth, complexity and elegance.

The result is an indulgent profile of black cherries, wild berries and ripe plums on the nose, followed by a silken palate of honeyed fruits, roasted nuts, toffee, vanilla and figs. A long, fruit-forward finish completes the experience.

The expression is as much a celebration of India’s artistic heritage as it is of whisky. The packaging is designed by celebrated designer Krsnaa Mehta, Founder of India Circus. Inspired by Indian miniature art and royal heritage, the design combines jewel tones, intricate florals and ornate detailing around a Marwari horse and its foal, symbolising nobility, lineage and continuity.

“The Diwali Collector’s Edition has played a defining role in Indri’s journey and in the story of Indian single malts globally. When the 2023 edition was named the ‘Best Whisky in the World’, it was a watershed moment — not just for Indri, but for the belief that Indian single malts could stand confidently alongside the world’s finest. The Diwali Collector’s Edition has become an important expression of what Indri stands for — a distinctly Indian whisky with the ambition and craftsmanship to command attention on the world stage. With the 2026 Ruby Port Cask, we wanted to push that story further, bringing together the richness of Indian single malt, the elegance of exceptional Ruby Port casks and the artistry of India’s cultural heritage. Limited to just 600 individually numbered bottles, this is a release created not only to celebrate Diwali, but to celebrate how far Indian whisky has come. The recognition it has already received globally is a testament to the craftsmanship behind Indri and our belief that the finest expressions of whisky can proudly come from India.” said Surrinder Kumar, Master Blender, Piccadily Distilleries.

The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition has become one of the most anticipated expressions in Indian whisky. The 2023 edition marked a defining moment, when Indri’s Diwali Collector’s Edition was recognised as the “Best Whisky in the World” at the Whiskies of the World Awards 2023, helping place Indian single malt whisky firmly on the global whisky map.

The Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026 carries forward the legacy of its acclaimed predecessors, making a strong mark on the global spirits stage even before its official India launch. The expression has secured Double Gold with 96 points at the USA Spirits Ratings 2026, where it was also named Indian Single Malt Whisky of the Year and Spirit of the Year – India. It has further earned Gold at the World Whisky Masters 2026 and the New York World Spirits Competition 2026, alongside Gold at the Asia World Spirits Competition 2026 in Singapore. Collectively, the series has secured 29 international awards, reinforcing the growing recognition of Indian single malt on the global stage.
