Bengaluru : Vedanta Sesa Goa’s Iron Ore Karnataka (IOK) has emerged as a winner in multiple award categories at the recently concluded 21st Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation (MEMC) week celebrations at Gulbarga, Karnataka. Under the auspices of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM), the MEMC week celebrations recognized the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and mineral resource conservation and awarded it for the best practices, including mineral beneficiation (1st prize), sustainable mining (1st prize), best practices adopted in mines (2nd prize), and environment monitoring (2nd Prize).
The MEMC Week celebrations, organized by the Indian Bureau of Mines every year, aim to promote awareness among stakeholders about the importance of sustainable mining practices and environmental conservation. The event brings various stakeholders of the mining fraternity together to showcase best practices, share knowledge and experiences, and collaborate for a sustainable mining future.
