Kolkata : What does it take to tell the story of a saint who never sought attention? And what can a new generation learn from a life lived in love, humility and service? These were the questions that echoed across the Heritage Group of Institutions campus on 12th October when Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, director of the film Hanuman Ansh, visited for a fireside chat with students and teachers.
Inspired by the life and leelas of Param Pujya Neem Karori Baba, Hanuman Ansh is a cinematic offering rooted in devotion. In a session that was part conversation and part reflection, Dr. Chaturvedi took the Heritage community behind the scenes of the film, from the first spark of the idea to the challenge of bringing a spiritual legacy to the screen with honesty and grace.
Students asked questions that ranged from the practical to the profound. How does one make a film about faith? What does surrender mean in today’s world? Can stories still change us? Dr. Chaturvedi answered each with warmth and sincerity, and the room stayed unusually still as he spoke.
For the young audience, it was a rare chance to see that cinema can be a form of seva, and that creativity and spirituality are not strangers to each other. Teachers described the experience as a gentle pause in a busy academic calendar, an invitation to reflect on purpose, values and the lasting impact of a story well told.
Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, said: “Dr. Chaturvedi’s fireside chat reminded us that stories have the power to quiet the mind and awaken something deeper. When our students sat in stillness, listening to a tale of faith, humility and service, we saw learning at its finest.”
Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi said: ” A story is never just a story. It is a lamp passed from one hand to another. When I speak about the life and leelas of Param Pujya Neem Karori Baba, I am not trying to tell the audience something new, but to help them remember something they already carry within, which is love, humility and faith. Today’s young minds are surrounded by noise, yet they listen deeply when a story is told with sincerity. If a film or a conversation can bring even a moment of stillness into a restless day, then the story has done its work.”
The visit reflects the Group’s belief that learning goes beyond the classroom. It grows through stories, conversations and encounters that stay with students long after the day ends.
