-Partners Skillveri for eXtended Reality ( XR ) Simulator platform
- Aims to train 20,000 painters
- Painters to be trained in spray-painting using XR simulator.
- Training models to save 60% project time and reduce paint wastage
Chennai : Nippon Paint has launched Extended Reality (XR) painter-training module, in collaboration with Skillveri, to train painters in spray-painting. Nippon Paint has always pioneered innovative technologies to benefit the painter ecosystem to handle nxtGen painting needs and boost their quality of life. Recognised by the Ministry of Skill Development, the XR module uses cutting-edge technology to address the gaps found in conventional methods of training. The basic training sessions will be held at the regional center. On successful completion, painters can enroll for advanced training sessions after six months.
The module lets painter visualise rooms/walls, and learn spray-painting techniques without using actual paint. Painters who have cleared this programme will be able to reduce their painting time by up-to 60 per cent, minimize paint loss, and improve the surface-finish and perfection of their projects. This in turn will translate into better business opportunities and multi-project skills for the Indian painter community.Adding that those who finish this module will be able to purchase Nippon’s mechanised spray painting machine at a subsidised cost, Nippon Paint (India) Private Limited (Decorative Division) President Mr Mahesh Anand said, “We have always been frontrunners in adopting technology to uplift our painter ecosystem. We are excited to partner with Skillveri for this initiative, and to train 20,000 painters in spray painting.”
Mechanised spray painting has the potential to halve the project time, and is expected to change consumer mindset in the context of painting.
