Orchids – The International School conducted ‘Museum on Wheels’ trip for 1200+ students

The field trip was organized to help students learn about India’s ancient culture in a fun way

Mumbai : A field trip called ‘Museum On Wheel’ was organized by Orchids – The International School (OIS), for the students of Grades Pre-primary to 10th. Several branches of Navi Mumbai region participated in this trip. During the 2-days trip a total of 1272 students got the enriching opportunity to view many ancient articles and antique artifacts from a close range.

The focus on the approach to get the students to learn the ancient culture in a fun way was met. The students gained a lot of knowledge by observing the different miniatures of ancient sculptures and heritage An exhibition was held which showcased Indian Decorative Art displays , Coins and Currencies, Jewelry, Indian textiles and costumes, World art collection, Indian Miniature paintings, the Sculpture Art of India and our earliest ancestors.

Ms. Sumitra Goswami, Principal, Orchids – The International School, Koparkhairane said, “ The modern world thinks of art as- something close to the meaning of life and field trips to such museums are a great way to get the students to learn about the culture of our country in an engaging and fun way which also helps them to increase their general knowledge while getting hands-on experience. Students learnt a lot about the rich heritage and ancestral art & culture of our country. The students were elated and felt connected with their roots, overall the trip was very informative.”.
