Mumbai : The Department of Financial Services (Welfare Division), Government of India, is organizing a pivotal two-day workshop on the “Reservation Policy of Government of India & Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs)”. The event is scheduled for 20–21 August 2026 and is being hosted at the Union Bank Knowledge Centre in Bengaluru.

The workshop is designed to build institutional capacity and enhance operational clarity on Reservation Policy of Government of India and Accessibility for PwDs for the banking, financial and insurance sector. It brings together senior management and Chief Liaison Officers from Public Sector Banks, RBI, NABARD, PFRDA, IRDAI, LIC, public sector insurance companies and financial institutions.

A primary objective of the program is to strengthen the conceptual understanding of the constitutional frameworks that govern reservation policies, roster management, and the promotion of PwDs. Furthermore, the event promotes a holistic understanding of physical, digital, and workplace accessibility under the Sugamya Bharat initiative. By addressing both the policy and human dimensions of inclusion, the DFS aims to equip these key public sector institutions with the knowledge required to move beyond statutory compliance toward meaningful workplace transformation.
