Bengaluru – Prestige Misty Waters – Vista Tower, an apartment complex in Kempapura, Hebbal has won the award for Small Garden category Competition held at the 220th Lalbagh horticultural exhibition, themed ‘The Glory of the Ganga Empire’, organised by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka at Lalbagh Botanical Garden recently. The award recognises outstanding planning, sustained maintenance, and community’s commitment to creating beautiful, sustainable, and welcoming green spaces within a residential environment.
The event features competitive categories for institutional and residential gardens, with a special focus on sustainable and well-maintained green spaces. The Small Garden category honours residential layouts with limited open areas that demonstrate exceptional design, green spaces, and year-round upkeep, creating healthier spaces for residents.
Despite spatial constraints, the garden at Prestige Misty Waters – Vista Tower stands out for its structured layout, healthy plant palette, clean, well-kept aesthetics that reflect continuous care rather than one-time beautification. This achievement is credited to the effort of the entire community, coordinated by the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) Management Committee and presided over by Prof. P. K. Poddar, a retired scientist from ISRO, Bengaluru.
Prof. Poddar emphasised that the award belongs to all residents who follow planting guidelines, respect common areas, and support seasonal gardening activities. He singled out Mr. Narayanan, the on-site gardener from Prestige Property Management Services, for his exceptional dedication. Prof. Poddar added that the win is a testament to what can be achieved when professional management, resident discipline, and genuine passion for greenery come together.
“This garden is like my own child,” said Mr. Narayanan, who has been maintaining the property for the last three years. “Every plant, every bed, every pathway is tended with personal care. The residents’ cooperation makes this possible.”
“Winning this recognition from the Department of Horticulture is a proud moment for all our residents. It reflects our shared vision of sustainable living and the tireless efforts of our residents and maintenance team who treat our campus as an ecological sanctuary.” said Mr. Ankit Rajput, the RWA Secretary.
The society’s green initiative not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the neighbourhood but also serves as an inspiring model for other residential communities on how to integrate nature seamlessly into modern apartment living.
For Bengaluru’s rapidly densifying residential landscape, this award demonstrates that professional property management, when paired with resident engagement, can create award-winning environments.
Prestige Misty Waters – Vista Tower association intends to use this recognition to encourage other residential communities to adopt similar practices in planning, maintenance, and resident involvement.
