‘The Shape of Memory’: IMS Noida’s Prasoon Poddar to Hold Solo Art Exhibition at India International Centre

NOIDA : IMS Noida is proud to announce that faculty member and Delhi-based artist Prasoon Poddar will be showcasing his solo art exhibition, ‘The Shape of Memory’, at the India International Centre (IIC) Annexe, New Delhi. The week-long exhibition will open with an exclusive preview on 7th October 2026 and run through 14th October 2026.

‘The Shape of Memory’ explores the deep-rooted cultural and emotional life of tea across India viewing it not merely as a daily beverage, but as a shared human experience that bridges social, cultural, and geographical divides. At the heart of the series is the humble tea kettle, transformed by the artist into a central visual metaphor for memory, warmth, intimacy, and invisible human connection.

Through variations in form, surface, color, and mark-making, Poddar uses the familiar silhouette of the kettle to represent how memories accumulate, layer, and reshape over time. The artwork reflects on ordinary, quiet rituals – conversations over a cup of tea, welcoming a stranger, or sharing a moment of silence and how these seemingly small encounters form the texture of collective belonging.

The preview on 7th October will be inaugurated by Prof. Biman Bihari Das, Padma Shri Awardee, eminent sculptor/painter, former Principal of GCAC Kolkata, and President of AIFACS, New Delhi, who will attend as the Chief Guest. The exhibition is supported by Gulabo Design and Khwaab Tanha Collective.
