Amazon Original Yearly Departed Adds Jane Fonda, Chelsea Peretti, Meg Stalter, Dulcé Sloan, Aparna Nancherla, X Mayo, and Alessia Cara to Put 2021 to Rest

The comedy special, hosted by Yvonne Orji and featuring an all-female lineup, premieres on Prime Video on December 23

MUMBAI—Prime Video has announced its star-studded, all-female lineup for the second installment of the Amazon Original comedy special Yearly Departed, saying goodbye to another year we all hope to soon forget. Hosted by Yvonne Orji (Insecure), Yearly Departed will premiere December 23 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Joining Orji this year are some of the world’s funniest ladies to deliver eulogies to our least favorite parts of 2021, including two-time Academy Award-winning actor Jane Fonda (Grace and Frankie), Chelsea Peretti (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Meg Stalter (Hacks), Dulcé Sloan (The Daily Show), Aparna Nancherla (The Great North), and X Mayo (The Daily Show), with Alessia Cara delivering a musical send-off to everything we are leaving behind this year. This year’s eulogists will bid farewell to Hot Vaxx Summer, Hermit Life, Ignoring the Climate Crisis, and Zoom, along with a few surprises still to come.

Yearly Departed is from Amazon Studios, Done+Dusted, and Scrap Paper Pictures. Yearly Departed is executive produced by Rachel Brosnahan, Paige Simpson, David Jammy, Katy Mullan, Samantha Ressler, Nathalie Love, and Bess Kalb, with Kalb also serving as head writer. Emmy Award-winner Linda Mendoza (Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready) returns as the director for this year’s special. The inaugural installment of the special was nominated for a Writers Guild Award and won a Gracie Award.
