KEY POINTS

  • ASUS ranked 24th in the 2024 Clean200 index and was recognized for its clean revenue growth driven by eco-friendly solutions and practices.
  • ASUS received a Leadership rating in the 2023 CDP Climate Change report, showcasing its leadership in transparency and environmental accountability.
  • ASUS also earned Leadership rating in 2023 CDP Supplier Engagement Rating for its efforts in reducing emissions and managing supply-chain climate risks.

ASUS today announced it has been ranked among the top 25 in the 2024 Clean200. The index is published by Corporate Knights, a leading Canadian research firm advocating for a sustainable economy. ASUS was recognized for its development of innovative eco-friendly products that generate clean revenue, underscoring the company’s unwavering commitment to advancing a circular economy.

ASUS also attained Leadership-level scores from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) in its 2023 Climate Change report and Supplier Engagement Rating. These scores further validate the company’s leadership in environmental disclosure transparency and its effective supply chain engagement on climate change. The CDP is a global non-profit that serves as the gold standard of environmental reporting.

Design Thinking drives clean revenue growth

Selected from a pool of over 6,700 publicly listed global firms, the 2024 Clean200 index identifies the top 200 companies based on their revenue from clean products and services. This is the second consecutive inclusion of ASUS in the list, and coupled with its impressive rise to 24th place this year from 93rd in 2023, this underscores its strategic focus on fostering a sustainable economy. ASUS was also notably ranked 2nd in Taiwan and 7th among global IT companies.

The company’s dedication to developing green products and achieving international eco-labels propelled its rise in the rankings, with 87.2% of its revenue coming from eco-friendly products[i] in 2022. Unwavering in its focus on advancing a circular economy, ASUS leverages Design Thinking and technological advancement in sustainability to craft eco-friendly products that minimize its impact on the planet.

Leadership, transparency, and supplier engagement on climate change
ASUS’s commitment to accountability and transparency also shines through its ‘Leadership’ level rating in the 2023 CDP Climate Change report. This score highlights ASUS’s stewardship in environmental disclosure and climate action. ASUS’s performance far surpassed the C score that was the global and electrical/electronic equipment industry average.

Among the 11 evaluation categories, ASUS achieved its highest scores in business strategy, financial planning and scenario analysis; carbon reduction initiatives and low carbon products; and Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Moreover, ASUS’s performance in Scope 3 emissions disclosure and supplier engagement categories earned it recognition as a leading company in CDP’s 2023 Supplier Engagement Rating.

The CDP’s Climate Change project assesses over 20,000 companies on their environmental disclosures and evaluates them on categories such as climate governance, strategy, and management of climate-related risks and opportunities. CDP then assesses the Supplier Engagement Rating of companies based on their responses related to supply chain management in the Climate Change project.

Driving sustainability through consistent action

Several key achievements contributed to ASUS attaining CDP’s ‘Leadership’ ratings. Firstly, its near-term science-based emission reduction targets have been validated by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). An SBTi validation indicates that ASUS’s targets are consistent with the objective of limiting global temperature change to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

Additionally, ASUS actively manages its supply chain for carbon reduction. This includes setting clear reduction targets for its entire supply chain, categorizing suppliers based on their carbon management capabilities and intensity, and providing suppliers with multiple resources to drive low carbon transformation across the entire supply chain.

ASUS also transparently discloses its financial scenario and business strategy to its stakeholders in its Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD) independent reports. Additionally, ASUS attained RE30 across its global operations centers in 2023, further aligning with its net-zero path to using 100% renewable energy in its worldwide operations by 2035.
