Pondicherry: Ather Energy, India’s leading manufacturer of electric scooters, has inaugurated its first retail store, Ather Space, in Sundarraja Nagar, Pondicherry, in association with Pillai Auto Pvt Ltd. The newly launched Gen 3 of the flagship Ather 450X and 450 Plus will be available for test ride and purchase at Ather Space. The company also announced the inauguration of two more outlets in Chennai and Vellore as part of their national retail expansion plan.
Ather Space is well equipped to provide a unique ownership experience along with complete service and support for the owners. The new Experience Centre is a dynamic, tactile, and interactive space that aims to educate customers about every aspect of the vehicle and provide a complete overview of the various parts with a striped-bare unit on display. Consumers in Pondicherry can now ride the Ather 450X and get an in-depth view of the product and its features before purchasing the vehicle. They can also book test ride slots on Ather Energy’s website prior to visiting the experience centre.

Ather Energy has continued to invest strategically in south India. The company has commissioned its second factory space in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, and plans to manufacture 400,000 units per annum. The company has also invested heavily in enhancing the public charging infrastructure in the state, installing 50+ Ather Grids, Ather’s fast charging network.
Ather Energy is one of the few OEMs that invest in charging infrastructure as well. There are currently 05 Ather Grids in Pondicherry and plans to add more across the city to strengthen the charging network. Ather Energy also supports customers with the installation of home charging systems in their flats and buildings.
Ather Energy has grown its retail network throughout important cities in India and now has 58 retail outlets in 48 cities. The company intends to expand to 100 cities with 150 Experience Centres by March 2023.
The ex-showroom price post the Fame II revision for the new Ather 450X is INR 158,811 and INR 137,301 for the Ather 450 Plus in Pondicherry.
