Celebrate This Women’s Day With An Oat-A-Licious Twist

Today’s women juggle numerous roles. From caring for loved ones at home to championing at work, women wear many hats. While acing the game of multi-tasking, a woman’s self-care and personal nutritional needs often takes a back seat.

This International Women’s Day, Quaker celebrates the unbreakable spirit of women. To make this occasion delightful, Quaker is sharing some spe-‘she’-ial and easy-to-make recipes to fill every woman’s mornings with wholesome and nutritious goodness of Oats.

Prepare these delicious Oats recipes to thank the women in your life, and celebrate this International Women’s Day, the oats way!

1.            Oats Sesame Spinach Toast

 Roasted Quaker Oats½ cup (50g)
 Brown bread slices4
 Finely chopped spinach (paalak) leaves1 cup (100g)
 Small onion – chopped1
 Salt & pepperAs per taste (optional)
 Low fat milk ½ cup (100g)
 Tomato puree (prepared in a mixer)4 tsp
 Sesame seeds2 tsp
 Tomato slices – cut into strips for garnishingFew slices

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan. Add roasted Quaker Oats, chopped onion and sauté for a min.
  2. Add chopped spinach, salt and pepper and sauté for 2 mins.
  3. Add milk stirring continuously and cook for 2 mins.
  4. Remove from fire and keep aside.
  5. Pre-heat oven at 200°C.
  6. Spread 1 tsp tomato puree on each slice.
  7. Spread spinach mixture on it and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  8. Garnish with tomato strips and bake for 7-8 mins till bread is toasted.
  9. Serve whole or cut into 2 triangles.

2. Oats Orange Flavour Pudding

 Pomegranate pearls2 tbsp
 Orange zest¼ tsp
 Raisins2 tsp
 SugarTo taste (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil ½ cup water with orange juice.
  2. Add Quaker Oats and cook for 2-3 mins.
  3. Turn off flame and add pomegranate pearls, orange zest, raisins and sugar.
  4. Mix and serve.
