CISCE National Archery Competition 2023 hosted by The Heritage School, Kolkata

From 27th till 29th September 2023, The Heritage School, Kolkata, hosted the CISCE National Archery Competition at The Heritage campus.  

The inaugural ceremony of the event was addressed by Mr. Vineet Kumar, Regional Director, Sports Authority of India as the Chief Guest. Mr. Jahar Das, Secretary, Bengal Olympic Association and Ms. Krishna Ghatak, President, West Bengal Archers Association were the Guests of Honour.

The event also witnessed the presence of Mr. Ranjan Mitter, Principal, The Future Foundation School and Principal Coordinator, CISCE Sports & Games (WB & NE Region), Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Kolkata, Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions, Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Senior Director-Higher Education, KBT & Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology and Dr. Sunil Singh, Head of the Department, Games & Sports, The Heritage School, Kolkata.

The competition is participated by the students from various CISCE Schools in states from North India, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa and few Schools from Abroad.

Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Vineet Kumar during his inaugural speech motivated each and every participant to give their best during these three days. 

Ms. Krishna Ghatak said that Kolkata is known for Archery and it’s great to see the young energetic students from various states in the Country coming to Kolkata to witness this mega event and participating to make their Schools proud. Mr. Jahar Das from Bengal Olympic Association inspired the students to go in depth in the field of archery. ‘You should not miss the target and that is very important,” said Mr. Jahar Das during the inaugural ceremony.

“This event gives a wonderful opportunity to the students to display their sporting skills. At The Heritage School, sports form an integral part of the curriculum,” said Ms. Sapru.

“I believe various achievements in sports speak a lot in terms of igniting the sporting spirit among the students,” said Dr. Sunil Singh, Head of the Department, Physical Education, Heritage Group of Institutions. 

“I wish all the participants all the best for their excellent performance during these two days.  I hope that someday from these students, sports personalities will evolve who will take India to greater heights of success across the world,” said Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions.
