New Delhi : The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, as part of the 75th-anniversary celebration of the country’s independence, was successfully launched by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang at a programme organised by the Culture Department in Gangtok today.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister initiated the formal launch of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The campaign has been launched to encourage every citizen to hoist the National Flag to commemorate the 75th year of India’s Independence as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration. The Culture Department shared a short video of glimpses of the Indian Independence struggle and other related issues involving the campaign about hoisting the tricolour as part of the celebration.
Similarly, the IPR department also shared a video to elaborate on the importance of hoisting the National Flag.
Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, in his address reminded all that India is the biggest Democracy in the world, and every citizen in the country should be grateful to the Nation for providing equality, freedom, and security to the citizens. He added that we must honour our freedom of seventy-five years and also look forward to celebrating the centenary after a hundred years. He remembered the great freedom fighters who gave their effort for the freedom of the country.
The Chief Minister mentioned that Sikkim is the 22nd State of the Indian Union, shares international borders, and has significant responsibilities; therefore, the Independence Day celebration is an opportunity for us to show our national identity and gratitude for being part of the Indian Nation.
The programme witnessed the release and felicitation of the artists involved in innovative projects such as traditional paper making, ink making and visual documentation. The Chief Minister also presented cash incentives to the artists for their performance during the programme’s cultural show.
