Critically acclaimed crime drama, ‘Mumbai Special Pav Bhaji’ is now streaming on ShemarooMe

Mumbai: Crime drama, ‘Mumbai Special Pav Bhaji’ streaming on ShemarooMe is sure to keep you on the edge with its thrilling plot. Set in Mumbai’s dark and gritty underworld of drug smuggling and human trafficking, the crime thriller, ‘Mumbai Special Pav Bhaji’ takes the audiences through the dark alleys of Mumbai. The film has received acclaim having been part of the official selection at several film festivals including the Southeast Regional Film Festival, First-time Filmmaker Sessions, and The Lift-Off Sessions.

The story revolves around Prem (Abhishek Sethiya), a young orphan, who befriends Babli (Ibra Khan), a humble girl in his neighborhood. Babli’s mother gets kidnapped by Bobby Khan (Agust Anand), an infamous don involved in human trafficking, and she seeks Prem’s help. Their quest to rescue her mother sparks romance between the two. Meanwhile, Bobby Khan’s rogue wingman Samar (Eshaan Shanker) oversees Khan’s nexus. Samar has dreams of his own and is ruthless in his pursuit. Many others get thrown around and dragged in the racket as the film takes us on a journey that mirrors the relentless fast life of Mumbai city where the action never ends.

Sharing his experience while shooting, actor Abhishek Sethiya says, “Shooting in Mumbai streets was a different experience. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this film especially with the entire crew who was very supportive. The crime thriller has already been part of several film festivals and I am grateful to ShemarooMe for bringing out such movies for a wider audience.”

Directed by Ashokk R. Kondke, the movie stars Eshan Shanker, Abhishek Sethiya, Ibra Khan, Krutika Tulaskar, Gauri Shankar Singh, Agast Anand, Mohammad Saud, and Elena Tuteja.

The movie, shot on real locations in Mumbai, takes the viewer through a rollercoaster ride of action and emotions, all the while showcasing undiscovered locales of the city. The title of the film represents the situation of every character, where the city is the plate, the ‘pav’ is the law and the ‘bhaji’ is a crime. As a character says in the movie, you can finish the bhaji with the help of a pav but even if you finish and clean the plate, there is always a new plate ready to be served in every corner of the city!
