The liver cells inflamed and swollen and over a period of time, it leads to scarring known as cirrhosis. When the liver function starts going down, it leads to numerous complications, many of them can become life-threatening”, says Dr. Chandan Kumar, Sr. Consultant – Hepatologist & Lead Transplant Physician.
“The Free Camp will help patients who have been suffering from alcohol-related liver problems in a great way. Alcohol-related liver disease does not occur in all heavy drinkers. The chances of getting liver disease go up the longer you have been drinking and if there is associated diabetes, obesity due to associated fatty liver. Men outnumber women for various social reasons. However, women can be more prone to liver disease with lesser exposure to alcohol. Some people may have an inherited risk for the disease.
