International 5th IEEE Wireless, Antennas and Microwave Symposium (WAMS 2026) Inaugurated at B V Raju Institute of Technology

The four-day international symposium is being organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from 10–13 June 2026.

Hyderabad : The prestigious 5th IEEE Wireless, Antennas and Microwave Symposium (WAMS 2026) was inaugurated today at B V Raju Institute of Technology (BVRIT), Narsapur, Hyderabad. The four-day international symposium is being organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering from 10–13 June 2026.

The symposium was formally inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Phil Venezia, Chief Engineer, LYNTRIS, USA; and Guests of Honour Prof. Christophe Fumeaux, Past President, IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, Australia; & Sri Aditya Vissam, Secretary, SVES.

The Symposium assumes great significance in light of the rapid advancements transforming the technology landscape. Advanced antenna technologies are playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of wireless communications, satellite systems, biomedical engineering, and next-generation networks. Exposure to these emerging technologies offers students invaluable opportunities for academic enrichment, research and innovation, professional networking, and career advancement, while equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven world.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sanjay Dubey, Principal, BVRIT, highlighted the significance of the symposium and stated that seven distinguished global experts delivered keynote addresses on the inaugural day. He noted that the event provides an excellent platform for students and faculty members to gain exposure to cutting-edge developments in antennas, wireless communications, and microwave technologies.

In his welcome address Dr. B. R. Sanjeeva Reddy, Head of the Department of ECE and General Chair of WAMS 2026, highlighted the presence of participants from 18 countries, including the USA, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Italy, Singapore, Poland, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, and France, at the symposium. Renowned institutions such as WIT (USA), Boston-based universities, RMIT University (Australia), and NTU Singapore are represented.

Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy further stated that the symposium received 1,059 technical paper submissions, of which 753 papers were accepted after a rigorous peer-review process for oral and poster presentations. Researchers from all 29 states of India, including premier institutions such as IITs, IISc Bengaluru, NITs, IIITs, BITS, and several leading universities, industries and national laboratories are presenting their research findings during the symposium.
