Made in Andhra, sold to the World: Amazon India signs MoU with Andhra Pradesh MSME Development Corporation to accelerate exports

Amazon today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (APMSMEDC) to support MSMEs, entrepreneurs, weavers, artisans, and producers across the state in building their exports business with Amazon Global Selling. The MoU was signed in the presence of Sh. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble CM of Andhra Pradesh, and Dep. CM Sh. Pavan Kalyan. The collaboration aims to strengthen awareness around exporting via ecommerce, support exporter readiness, and enable businesses in Andhra Pradesh to sell to customers in international Amazon markets through ecommerce.

As part of the initiative, Amazon will conduct knowledge sharing sessions covering overview of global marketplaces, export-readiness, compliance considerations, logistics, and sustainable scaling. The initiative will also support the creation of training programs across Andhra Pradesh to provide local, on-ground support for businesses at the start of their e-commerce exports journey.

Talking about this engagement, Vinod Kumar – President, India SME Forum said, “This engagement between Amazon Global Selling and the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation marks a pivotal moment for the state’s MSME sector. The MoU opens up new pathways for thousands of MSMEs to leverage e-commerce exports to participate in global trade with greater confidence and capability. By gaining access to world-class export knowledge, digital tools, and international markets, MSMEs from Andhra Pradesh can significantly scale their businesses and create meaningful economic impact. At India SME Forum, we are committed to ensuring that every enterprise—no matter its size or location—has the opportunity to compete globally, and this collaboration is an important step in that direction.”

Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling, India, said, “At Amazon, we are committed to enabling Indian MSMEs and entrepreneurs to build and scale global businesses through e-commerce exports. Our collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation is focused on helping businesses across the state understand and access global opportunities through awareness, knowledge sharing, and exporter enablement initiatives. We believe e-commerce exports can play an important role in helping businesses from Andhra Pradesh reach customers worldwide and contribute to India’s growing export economy. This is also a meaningful step in our journey of enabling $80 billion in cumulative exports from the country by 2030.”

Under the MoU, Amazon, the APMSMEDC, and the India SME Forum will work together to enable 50,000+ businesses across Andhra Pradesh to access global markets through a structured e-commerce exports knowledge-sharing program, alongside policy enablement, seller mobilization, and ecosystem-building. The collaboration will support roadmap development for e-commerce exports from the state, alongside policy development, seller enablement, and ecosystem-building for businesses looking to expand globally.

The MoU was signed at the MSME Growth Summit organized in Vijayawada by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The event brought together more than 1500 MSMEs from Vijayawada and nearby areas, providing them with strategic insights, resources, and guidance from Amazon Global Selling’s leaders and experts on reaching customers globally. Andhra Pradesh’s 39 lakh-strong MSME base positions the state as a key region in Amazon’s broader efforts to scale e-commerce exports from India.
