Piaggio India drives its electric revolution into Puducherry with the launch of the Apé E-City SWAP
Puducherry : Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (PVPL), the wholly owned Indian subsidiary of the Italian auto giant Piaggio Group, today announced the launch of the Apé E-City SWAP in Puducherry. The vehicle was launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Puducherry, Mr. N. Rangasamy, at a ceremony attended by the senior leadership of Piaggio India, Indofast Energy and representatives of Piaggio Apé dealer partner, M/s Future Automobiles.
The launch marks a significant step in Piaggio India’s electric mobility expansion in the region, reinforcing the Company’s commitment to providing clean, reliable, and commercially viable last-mile transportation solutions to drivers and fleet operators across the region. M/s Future Automobiles, the Company’s authorised dealer partner, has been an active and engaged partner in the business, playing a key role in strengthening Piaggio’s reach and customer relationships in the market.

Speaking at the event, Mr. V.P.A. The Apé E-City SWAP is built with joint partnership between Piaggio Vehicles and Indofast Energy with the innovative ‘Swap N Go’ technology, which allows drivers to exchange a depleted battery for a fully charged one in a matter of minutes at designated swapping stations, eliminating charging downtime and enabling virtually unlimited range. The vehicle further features Boost Mode for enhanced pick-up, Climb Assist Mode for improved performance on inclines, an automatic gearbox, hill-hold assist, and 4G telematics through Piaggio Connect for real-time vehicle tracking and fleet management.

With no engine, clutch or battery maintenance costs, the Apé E-City SWAP is designed to significantly lower the total cost of ownership for drivers and fleet operators, while the swappable battery format removes range anxiety and charging wait times altogether making it particularly well suited for high-utilisation fleet applications such as EV Everywhere.
The Apé E-City SWAP is available in Puducherry through M/s Future Automobiles, Piaggio’s authorised dealer for the region for INR 2.65 lacs (Ex-showroom, Puducherry).
