Plaksha University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Invest Punjab to support the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into the FastTrack Punjab Portal – the Government of Punjab’s unified single-window platform for investment approvals and regulatory clearances.
As part of the partnership, Plaksha University will also host the Progressive Punjab Investors’ Summit 2026 at its campus from 13–15 March, an event organised by Invest Punjab in coordination with the Government of Punjab that will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and innovators to explore investment and technology opportunities in the state.
“AI is becoming the backbone of how governments serve their citizens and enable enterprise. Plaksha’s mission is aligned with the work that Invest Punjab is doing to enable innovation in the state. Our partnership is a step toward reimagining how governance meets innovation and how states like Punjab can lead the next wave of technology-enabled growth.” said Dr. Rudra Pratap, Founding Vice Chancellor, Plaksha University.
Amit Dhaka, CEO of Invest Punjab said “This MoU is a step forward in government-academia collaboration. It will pave the way for AI experts from Plaksha to provide innovative solutions that will bring the next wave of growth in the state of Punjab”.
The collaboration will draw on Plaksha University’s research and applied expertise in artificial intelligence, data science, and digital governance to strengthen public digital infrastructure.
Under the collaboration, Plaksha’s AI and data science teams will work with Invest Punjab to design and develop AI-enabled tools for the FastTrack Punjab Portal. The initiative aims to make regulatory processes more transparent, predictable, and efficient for businesses seeking to invest in Punjab.
Operated by Invest Punjab, the FastTrack Punjab Portal serves as the state’s primary interface for businesses seeking approvals, clearances, and government services related to investment. The platform was designed by Invest Punjab and developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Punjab, which will continue to serve as the core technology partner responsible for the platform’s development, security, and deployment.
