Pocket FM has launched the fourth chapter of its acclaimed documentary series, Sound of Courage, this time shining its lens on Indian tennis legend Rohan Bopanna—a man who refused to let age write his final chapter. The film traces his remarkable journey from a boy with a racquet to becoming, at 43, the oldest first-time World No. 1 in men’s doubles, a feat that redefined what longevity in professional sport can look like.
Across more than two decades representing India on the international circuit, Bopanna built a career of quiet tenacity. But as injuries mounted and recovery grew harder, public discourse began shifting—not to what he could still achieve, but to when he should step away. Rather than surrendering to those expectations, Bopanna chose reinvention. He restructured his training, committed to recovery, and continued to believe in himself when much of the world had stopped. The result was a history-making milestone that stunned the sport.
“Every chapter of Sound of Courage begins with a simple belief—that courage is universal—and Rohan’s journey embodies that spirit entirely,” said Vineet Singh, Global Head of Brand Marketing, Communications, Partnerships & Public Affairs at Pocket FM.
The new chapter adds a powerful dimension to the series, which has previously explored resilience, social change and environmental action. Bopanna’s story extends that legacy into the realm of sporting perseverance, challenging deeply held assumptions about age and athletic peak. His journey is not simply a sports story—it is a human one, about the courage to keep believing long after others have moved on.
