Srinivasan Services Trust distributes nesting boxes for Sparrow Conservation in 100 villages of Tamil Nadu

March 20th marks World Sparrow Day, and Srinivasan Services Trust (SST) the social arm of TVS Motor Company and Sundaram-Clayton Limited is proud to continue its efforts towards sparrow conservation. SST has drawn up an action plan to create awareness about sparrow conservation and is taking multiple initiatives to curb this decline.  SST has identified villages and areas where the sparrows can nest and have procured thousands of customised nests, which are being distributed to these shortlisted villages across Tamil Nadu. The nesting boxes will be kept on the top of windows outside the house with some feed or at nearby rooftops to invite sparrows. Till date, SST has already distributed sparrow nesting boxes in around 100 villages. The organisation’s conservation efforts have already shown positive results, with many of these boxes providing homes to the sparrow population in these areas. SST believes that this action can make a significant difference in the preservation of the sparrow species. SST’s conservation efforts are a testament to their dedication of raising awareness about the importance of preserving biodiversity.
