SRM Valliammai Engineering College Brings Together Over 50 School Teachers From Three Districts for an Enrichment Program
~ Offering an introduction into new age, digital tools, the one day workshop focused on enabling teachers to provide a technology-based learning environment ~
In an effort to enable teachers with cutting edge softwares, the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from SRM Valliammai Engineering College (SRMVEC) recently organized an impactful Teachers Enrichment Program. The one day workshop focused on educating teachers about tools and resources for creating technology-based learning environments. As part of the workshop a detailed walkthrough of key tools such as Hot Potatoes, Plickers, RSA animation, Open board and Geogebra were demonstrated to school teachers. The workshop witnessed participation from 50 teachers from across three districts – Chennai, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr.S.Visalakshi, Professor & Head and convenor of the programme said, “We are extremely delighted to host this workshop and the responses from the teachers were heart-warming. In today’s fast paced world, where students pick up current trends in technology, it has become a necessity where the teachers are in the same line too, in terms of technological aspects. To make learning more interesting with technology we introduced some digital tools to teachers which helps them to engage with the students in unique forms”.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr. R. Umamaheswari and Ms. M. Ramjan Begum, Assistant Professor of the EIE Department in SRMVEC. The session started with a welcome address by the head of the department. The workshop also offered a platform for School teachers to interact with all the faculty members of the department. Technical fun based activities like connexion, quiz master were conducted during the workshop.
