Tata Power Enters the Microdrama Space With “Teri छत, Meri छत!” on Rooftop Solar

Bengaluru : Tata Power has launched “Teri छत, Meri छत!”, a six-episode series that uses short-form family storytelling to bring rooftop solar into everyday conversation. Built for the fast-growing micro drama format, it uses humour and relatable domestic situations to make clean energy more approachable.

The story begins with the Singh family’s son, Raghav, who has just landed a new work-from-home job. Inconsistent electricity and frequent power cuts threaten to disrupt his work, so the family decides to explore rooftop solar to secure a regular electric supply for his job, while also cutting their rising electricity bills. Their joint household shares a terrace divided by a partition wall, and a shadow falling on one side means the two households will need a shared installation. Getting there requires the two sisters-in-law, Pushpa and Kamla, to set aside their differences.

Along the way, the series addresses common consumer questions about rooftop solar, including durability during monsoon storms, battery storage and potential bill savings. These concerns are woven into character interactions and everyday situations, and answered in a way that feels natural and relatable.

The campaign builds on Tata Power Solaroof’s commitment to making clean energy accessible through reliable, cost-effective and sustainable rooftop solutions for homes, businesses and communities. Tata Power Solaroof has more than 5 lakh rooftop solar installations across over 550 cities and regions in India, with over 5.6 GWp of rooftop solar capacity installed.

“Rooftop solar is often viewed through a technical lens,” said Jyoti Kumar Bansal, Chief Corporate Communication and Branding, Tata Power. “With ‘Teri छत, Meri छत!’, we wanted to meet Indian consumers where they are, in the heart of their living rooms and on their mobile screens. Not heavy, not educative, not preachy, but subtle.”

Developed by BC Webwise and directed by Rukshana Tabassum, the series comprises six episodes with an average runtime of three minutes and a total duration of 17 minutes. It launched on 29 October 2026 and is available on Facebook, YouTube Shorts and Instagram, as well as in Tata Power’s ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ Facebook community.
