Encourages Consumers To Participate In Its Latest Initiative #Givebackthemilkpack
Bengaluru: India’s first certified and largest organic dairy enterprise, Akshayakalpa Organic today announced the launch of its revolutionary recycling initiative on the occasion of World Earth Day #GiveBackTheMilkPack. According to the Minister of State for Environment, more than 34 lakh tons of plastic waste were generated in 2019-20. A large contributor to this plastic waste is discarded milk packs that have an adverse effect on our environment, and our children’s future. Akshayakalpa does the waste collection and partners with recycling ventures to segregate different kinds of plastic waste to recycle them into granules, which are then used as secondary raw material to make new products such as baskets and goods.
In addition to inviting its customers to join in on this movement, Akshayakalpa’s #GiveBackTheMilkPack program extends an invitation to schools and other dairy producers and suppliers to also participate in this revolution. The organic dairy brand will be rolling out this initiative across 3 cities that it serves currently: namely Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Chennai.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Shashi Kumar, Founder and CEO of Akshayakalpa Organic, says, “At Akshayakalpa, our driving force is to unearth a healthy future for our customers and a prosperous future for our farmers by nurturing nature. It is from this premise that we strive to make a difference in every step that we take. The launch of this recycling initiative is yet another milestone in doing what is good for our environment, society, and our consumers. Milk is a product that is consumed in every household every day in India, but the disposal of these packets receives little to no attention and it adds to the extent of the problem we as a nation and the world are facing. This initiative is a small but crucial action towards bringing about awareness on the impact of plastic waste and invites our consumers to participate in our goal of making a difference in a way that matters”
Akshayakalpa has also extended its commitment to creating a positive change with the launch of its sustainable packaging. Akshayakalpa Organic Milk is now also available in paperboards which are 92% biodegradable and 100% recyclable carton packs. This pack is not only eco-friendly but also provides convenient on-the-go nutrition, and it preserves the freshness of the milk for 5 days (while in refrigeration)
Anyone can be a part of this initiative by simply switching to Akshayakalpa Organic Milk and joining the unique recycling program on the brand’s application. Currently, the brand serves over 50,000+ consumers across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysore, Tumkur and Tiptur. It is present primarily through the Akshayakalpa App, through multiple hyper-local app platforms as well as through retail store presence in over 1200 locations.
