Milann Fertility & Birthing Centres Organize Awareness Talk to Mark World Heart Day

The event witnessed doctors speaking on heart health during fertility treatment and pregnancy

Bengaluru: Milann, one of the largest fertility and birthing care providers, today in a bid to instill preventive heart care habits and to raise awareness about heart health during fertility treatment and pregnancy organized awareness talk at its Centres across India on the occasion of World Heart Day. Having 5 centres in south (Bengaluru) and 3 in the north (Delhi, Chandigarh & Gurugram), the event witnessed Dr. S R Raajam Murali addressing the patients at Kumarapark, Dr. Vinod Kumar at JP Nagar, Dr. Prashant S Joshi at Indiranagar, Dr. Rathnamani Arkachari at Whitefield, Dr. Priyanka Dilip Kumar at MS Ramaiah, Dr. Aastha Gupta at Delhi and Dr. Shikha Sardana at Chandigarh. 

The event witnessed around 300 people attending across all the centres. The talk at all the centres was followed by an interactive session where the patients’ queries were cleared related to heart health during fertility treatment and pregnancy. The session helped the patients make an informed decision on keeping their heart healthy.

Men and women undergoing fertility treatment are often at greater risk of heart disease. While women who struggle with infertility, especially with PCOS are at possible risk for a heart attack or stroke, in men there is a possibility that the same factors that impact fertility also impact their heart health. Undergoing fertility treatment in fact benefits by heart issues getting detected early and providing the opportunity to address them before they become serious. In addition, cardiovascular disease is also the leading cause of death in pregnant women and women in the postpartum period. Considering heart is a key to optimal health during fertility treatment, pregnancy and every other season of life, it is important to take care of it.
