Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance Opens New Private Pelvic Health Center in Braintree

BRAINTREE … Peak Physical Therapy & Sports Performance, a South Shore practice specializing in unique programs that provide comprehensive treatment in orthopedic, spine and sports medicine specialties, has opened a new private health center for both men’s and women’s pelvic health in Braintree, MA.

The private clinic is located at 501 John Mahar Highway, Suite 100 in the same building as Peak’s original Braintree clinic location. The Private Pelvic Health clinic features six individual treatment rooms for men and women. There is also a larger area that is used for group classes such as pre and post partum yoga, and fitness classes for post partum women with instruction on how to exercise safely.

Ruth Maloney PT, DPT has been named as the Clinic Manager. Maloney received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007. She has gone through extensive training in women’s and men’s pelvic health with significant clinic experience in treating urinary/bowel dysfunctions, chronic pain and pregnancy and postpartum issues. She furthered her manual and clinical skills through course work from NAIOMT, the Herman and Wallace Institute, and Discover Physio. She is passionate about educating the community and other medical professionals on pelvic health and has developed several programs to further overall understanding and recognition of these issues.

Peak has a team of physical therapists who specialize in women’s and men’s pelvic health conditions, and will provide non-surgical and non-medicinal options for a number of conditions. The therapists evaluate each patient to identify the source of the problem and then develop an individualized treatment plan. The program offers evaluations and treatments for a variety of conditions including bladder and urinary dysfunction, bowel dysfunction, pelvic pain, pre and post-natal low back pain, prostate cancer rehab, Diastasis Recti, sexual dysfunction, and more.

“Our Pelvic Health clinics have generated great interest in the community and serve a very real health need,” said Eric Edelman, PT and owner of Peak Physical Therapy and Sports Performance. “Ruth is a great practitioner who believes in individualized care with a focus on whole body health and wellness. She offers patients real relief and better health.”
