The Decor Journal India commence a Green Building Movement to catalyze the pace of Green Architecture development

The Decor Journal India – a brand of H & A Media Productions Pvt Ltd, is a digital media house that communicates about architecture, interior design, and construction. The Delhi-based media production house creates content in both digital and video formats. The Green Building Summit by the media house was successfully organized on Friday 13th May 2022. It was a virtual event and allowed the people of the architecture and design community from various corners of the world to witness the current Green Building scenario in India and the future aspirations of the begetters of green architecture.

The event witnessed the participation of renowned sustainable architects, famous real estate developers, professionals from the World Green Building Council, GRIHA, Green Building Certification Institute, and various material manufacturers. The speakers created an environment with their experiences and learnings that captivates attention and urges them to be kind and conscious toward nature and humanity. The success of the summit by The Decor Journal India reinforces the growing importance of Green building design and encourages turning the dialogue into practice.

The discussions at the panels articulated by The Decor Journal India shed light on the current green architectural practices, how material plays a role in crafting a green design, the ratings and certifications that govern the extent of green for any structure, and the initiatives launched by significant institutions to address the cause. It also talked about the user engagement towards green building construction and how reflecting on the past traces path toward future construction practices.

The architects Trupti Doshi, Yatin Pandya, Monish Siripurapu, Sonali Rastogi, Sohrab Dalal, Amit Khanna, Mitu Mathur, and Sridevi Changali were the few of many who were part of panel discussions on sustainability concerned subjects and case study presentations that demonstrated their practicing principles and working ideologies. A dialogue was conducted with developers Mr. Gary Willburn, Mr. Shabbir Kanchwala, and Mr. Gauri Shankar, who shared their experiences and practical insights on the condition of green architecture in the real estate industry. Professionals from material manufacturing brands Saint Gobain, Rehau, and Canadian Wood came together to discuss the evolution in the material sector and the importance of considering the overall positive impact of green materials rather than high initial costs.

The Decor Journal intended to focus on discussing sustainability on various scales of designing and explain in detail the processing of various rating institutions like IGBC, WGBC, or GRIHA and the panel discussions and presentations were successful in bringing detailed insights to these subjects. The discussions also highlighted the importance of architectural marketing at this hour and communicating the projects to the end-user for their maximum involvement in green construction. The panelists concluded that the responsibility not only lies with the architects but all stakeholders involved to bring about the change that everyone is talking about and preaching about.

The event was initiated by the Decor Journal India to provide insights into the green building industry from the perspective of various stakeholders who are involved at various stages of design development and execution. The Summit has resulted in a platform that not only brings assurance towards the completion of green construction objectives but also highlights the importance of a collaborative approach by the architecture fraternity to bring change for a better and breathable tomorrow.
