TTK Prestige to host #PrestigePongal cook-off with celebrity Chef Shazia Khan

  • Invites home-cooks in Bengaluru to participate in the competition which commences on 30th December 2021
  • Shortlisted finalists to be invited to prepare their signature Pongal preparation in Chef Shazia’s cooking studio
  • Exciting prizes worth INR60K for winners and shortlisted participants

Bengaluru : TTK Prestige, India’s leading kitchen appliances brand, has announced a Pongal cook-off in its quest to find Bengaluru’s best Pongal home-cook.Commencing from 30th December 2021, the competition pays tribute to everyone’s favourite dish during Sankranti.

TTK Prestige has partnered with celebrity chef and ex Master chef India first runner-up Shazia Khan, to find Bengaluru’s best Pongal home-cook. As part of the competition, participants are invited to share their interpretation of Pongal, either sweet or savoury in video format from 30th December 2021 until 7th January 2022. The videos shouldn’t exceed one minute and should showcase the presentation of the completed Pongal dish, with the home-cook talking about what makes his or her recipe and preparation special. These videos should be shared on the participants social media platforms (Facebook & Instagram) tagging TTK Prestige using the hashta g#PrestigePongalCook-off and  #TTKPrestige.

The judging criteria will include presentation and aesthetics of the completed dishas well as a narration by the home-cook on the history and uniqueness of the recipe and the Pongal preparation. Five participants will be shortlisted and invited to cook their dish at Chef Shazia’s cooking studio in Bengaluru on 10th January 2022.  It’s not just the winners who will receive exciting prizes worth INR 60K. Shortlisted participants will also win TTK Prestige gift certificates. The top ten contestants will be gifted with gift vouchers from TTK Prestige.

We invite home cooks across the city to showcase their culinary skillsand to see if they can have it in them to prepare Bengaluru’s best Pongal.’’

Chef Shazia Khan said: ‘’everyone has a signature Pongal recipe that sometimes is passed down from generation to generation. As a judge of this cook-off, I am excited to satiate my Pongal cravings and to get a first-hand glimpse of the many ways that Bangaloreans prepare Pongal.’’
